SPORTS AND ORTHOPEDIC REHABILITATION

  • Physical Therapy that is used to preserve, enhance, or restore movement and physical function impaired or threatened by disease, injury, or disability and that utilizes therapeutic exercise, physical modalities, assistive devices, and patient education and training.

  • We utilize a combination of techniques tailored towards your individual needs consisting of soft tissue work, joint mobilizations, and manipulations to decrease pain, improve mobility, and improve muscle activation.

  • Dry needling is the use of a thin sterile filament needle to decrease more sensitive and stiffness in the muscle caused by trigger points. Trigger points can cause pain, weakness and improper movement patterns. Once the trigger point is released, pain decreases and movement improves leading to the ability to properly improve strength, range of motion, normalize dysfunction of the motor end plate, and function. Consult with your NEXUS practitioner for further information and to see if dry needling would work for you.

  • Spinal manipulation is a technique where practitioners use their hands to apply a controlled thrust to a joint of your spine to restore or enhance joint function, with the general goals of resolving joint inflammation and reducing pain.

  • Exercise targeted to the area of compromise.

  • Improve muscle and movement on a neural level.

  • Return to sport is a rehabilitation continuum to progress a patient through the recovery process. Once rehabilitated, our PT and strength coaches will progress you through a performance spectrum to return to your sport stronger, faster, and more efficient. We aid in preparing and progressing the patient through their plan of care for their safe and efficient return to activity.

People come to physical therapy for pain, pre and post surgery, and movement disorders.

We take this seriously and evaluate you holistically to determine the root causes of your issues. We evaluate your physical profile thoroughly to ensure that we identify your compensatory patterns that could cause pain to be appropriately corrected. In the active and athletic population, the root of these dysfunctions can sometimes be hidden and difficult to detect. At Nexus, we pride ourselves on this comprehensive approach that we take to eliminate your pain, improve your function, and get you back to doing the things you love most.
