RECOVERY AND WELLNESS

  • IASTM is a skilled myofascial intervention where a stainless steel instrument is utilized to improve fascial mobilization and to reduce tissue sensitivity. This can be used to improve range of motion, reduce scar tissue restrictions and decrease pain.

  • Cupping is performed to increase tissue oxygenation to facilitate tissue healing, recovery and reduce inflammation by increasing blood flow to the targeted area.

  • Dry needling is the use of a thin sterile filament needle to decrease more sensitive and stiffness in the muscle caused by trigger points. Trigger points can cause pain, weakness and improper movement patterns. Once the trigger point is released, pain decreases and movement improves leading to the ability to properly improve strength, range of motion, normalize dysfunction of the motor end plate, and function. Consult with your NEXUS practitioner for further information and to see if dry needling would work for you.

  • Stretch therapy is a technique utilized to improve flexibility, range of motion, and decrease muscle tension.

  • Trigger point therapy is a soft-tissue treatment that helps release tense, painful knots in your muscles and fascia, which is the web of connective tissue. Components of trigger point therapy may include sustained pressure, posture and movement correction, electrical stimulation, dry needling, and massage.
